B2 Speaking practice Travelling and culture clash

Okay, I may not always be a clash, but what happens when one encounters a completely different culture?

I remember that on my first visit to Spain as a child I expected to see everybody sort of either Spanish dancing or bullfighting (I even feel rather embarrassed to admit that I even had a Spanish dancer doll that I had called Rosita Carlos 😀 ). After some time I gradually learnt the language and made all the blunders that a learner could possibly make, like when I told my group of female friends that I was SO pregnant ( Estaba tan embarazada)

So for tomorrow’s class were going to talk about this culture clash and I’m sure that even in a world that is closer nowadays than some decades ago, you may have experienced some kind of misunderstanding that we can tell the class about.
