This is a short post with a list of situations in which we would use the to-infinitive in English. This does not include more complex structures such as passives, for example, as it aims to cover the basics for now. Later on, I’m going to post -ing forms and the bare infinitive form, but in my classes, I only like to deal with one little item at a time. Once we have all three, I’ll post a quiz with the aim of facilitating some extra practice.
