How do you feel when it’s pouring down with rain?
How does spring make you feel?
Do you feel a tingling sense of excitement as you see the days lengthening?
Or do you enjoy feeling gloomy on a grey day?
Have you ever wondered how much the weather affects your mood? I’m sure your answer will be, “Yes, of course it does!”
This tongue-in-cheek quiz aims to get my students speaking while, at the same time, revising and introducing loads of weather vocabulary.
This quiz will describe 6 personality types based on what people find appealing:
- A Rainy-Day Thinker 🌧️
- A Sunshine Seeker ☀️
- A Storm Chaser ⛈️
- An Autumn Romantic 🍂
- A Winter Soul ❄️
- A Tropical Dreamer 🌴
By the way, I must say that I posted this same quiz yesterday but had to delete it for two reasons:
- There was a horrible typo that I only noticed when I was about to use it, and for some reason, I couldn’t fix it.
- There were some ties among my students.
So, having explained—and got over the embarrassment—here it is again, with a new set of questions that will, hopefully, not lead to ties.

PS. Don’t worry if you see that you have a score like 0/12. It isn’t relevant. Just focus on your personality result and by the way, let me know if you get a tie so that I can add more questions.
What do you think?
Did your result match your personality?
Do you agree that the weather has an effect on your mood?
Do you agree that certain seasons suit you better than others?
How do you adapt to different weather conditions?
Do you think your mood improves when the weather is more aligned with your preferences?
