Hi there! As I have just completed a 60-hour course on podcasts, I couldn’t keep myself from setting up a video. Yep! You don’t have to tell me that the BBC will NOT hire me :D, because I know. But as a matter of fact, creating podcasts is something that I’ve been wanting to explore for some time. So here’s one of, hopefully, a series.
Podcasts usually only contain audio, but I thought it would be much more interesting for my students to have visual support, so here’s the result.
In this video, the aim is to introduce words related to space, including terms such as galaxy, the Milky Way and satellite, while also providing engaging visuals and exciting facts that bring these concepts to life. Additionally, we’ll revise and learn how to say high numbers, exploring their significance in the context of astronomy and the vast distances that exist in our universe. By the end of the video, students have a little quiz to challenge their knowledge of space exploration.
Tomorrow, I will surely set up the other activities planned for this session on space and the universe. Until then, here you are.
If you have listened to the podcast, you have surely noticed plenty of words related to ‘Space’. Here you can learn some more and after, you can challenge yourself on the vocabulary quiz below.

Another interesting content from the podcast are some of the structures that were used to speak about the physical qualities of planets and stars like in ‘the Sun is about 1.3 million times bigger than Earth’, and so on. For this reason, I’ve uploaded a sheat sheet with two interesting structures that can be used for this purpose.
