I’m pushing myself to create my own podcasts (and no I’m not keen on my voice, but hope to improve diction and so many other things). This podcast aims to create an activity where my students can practise speaking about how their homes or different homes make them feel, using some emotion and colour vocabulary.
First let’s see some AI-generated rooms. How would you describe them? Which room do you find more relaxing and why?
In this post you are going to do two types of listening activities. They will both use the same podcast, but having the oppotunity to first do a TRUE/FALSE listening is going to help you cope with the second activity, which is a sentence completion.
Begin with the true/false. Read the statements before you play the audio file making sure you understand them.
The second activity is a sentence completion. This means that you will have to write down one or two missing words in the blanks. In this level, it is common to rephrase the questions, so you will not hear exactly the same thing as in the audio so it is very important that you carefully read the sentences before you start listening to the audio. One very good strategy for this type of activity is to guess what type of word or words are missing so you will almost know what to expect.
Now listen to the podcast and fill the blanks. There can be one or more missing words. You will notice this when you see a slash ___/___
