B2/C1 Listening Cyberchondria

As we are now dealing with the topic of illness, I have prepared two listening activities to cover the ‘obsession’ of some people that leads them to consult online sources whenever they feel a bit under the weather.

First of all, what do you think is happening in the comic. Clue: related to this subject.

What do you do when some part of your body starts to ache? Do you immediately ring the emergency health number to get a medical appointment? Do you slam your laptop open and start typing away like hell while logged on to Google? Or do you just play it down—of course, because you know your body?

We’ll be talking about this today, so here’s a little challenge to train & strain your ears to understand native speakers talking at normal speed. The first listening is a true/false activity, and the second one is the same audio, but this time it’s a sentence completion.
